The Friends of Jimmy Miller, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization made up of a voluntary Board of Directors and officers.
The organization is dedicated to raising funds to support programs that benefit children in crisis. Many of these programs and services deal with positive reinforcement, teaching life skills and adolescent development.
Funds are raised at an annual benefit dinner of which 100% of the net proceeds from the dinner are distributed to directly benefit programs for children in crisis. Since the dinner was expanded in 2002 over $2,000,000 has been raised. The Annual Dinner has been attended faithfully by former Attorney General and current Senator, Richard Blumenthal, Mayors from New Haven, East Haven, West Haven, Shelton, Ansonia and Derby. Bishop Peter Rosazza of the Hartford Archdiocese and Bishop William Cote of the Norwich Archdiocese among other regular notable attendees.
The dinner routinely attracts over 1,000 attendees who have made it an annual ritual to spend time with friends. They enjoy a great Anthony’s Ocean View meal, consisting of several courses with an open bar. The venue also includes a 50/50 raffle and silent auction items. There is something for everyone.
Tickets are by invitation only through a committee member. All guests are asked to make a generous contribution at the door to “The Friends of Jimmy Miller, Inc." to benefit the agencies. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
